Abstract
This report provides traffic forecasts for US mobile carriers from
2009 to 2015. It examines and gives forecasts for different traffic
types and gives separate forecasts for notebooks, netbooks and phones.
It also provides an examination into drivers to changes in traffic.
Forecasts are around the following:
- Video traffic
- Music traffic
- P2P traffic
- Data traffic (including SMS and MMS)
- Share of traffic for each of the above across notebooks, netbooks
and phones
Headline forecasts
- Traffic will rise from 15 TB (terabytes) per month in 2009, to 723 TB per month in 2015
- Mobile phones will take up two thirds (68%) of this traffic in 2015
- Video will form nearly two thirds (63%) of 3G/3G+ traffic in 2015
